Educational Qualification :

For trades of Constable(Cobbler), Constable(Tailor), Constable(Washerman), Constable(Barber) and Constable(Sweeper) :

(a) Matriculation or equivalent from a recognized Board; (

b) Must be proficient in respective trade;

(c) Must qualify trade test in the respective trade conducted by recruitment board.

For the trades of Constable(Cook), Constable(Water Carrier) and Constable(Waiter) :

(a) Matriculation or equivalent from a recognized Board;

(b) National Skills Qualifications Framework (NSQF) level-I Course in food
production or Kitchen from National Skill Development Corporation or from the
Institutes recognized by National Skill Development Corporation

Physical Efficiency Test (PET) :

The candidates who qualify in PET will be subject to biometric identification & screening of testimonials/ documents and thereon chest (for males only) and weight measurement by the board. The candidates who do not fulfill the laid down physical standards will be eliminated from the recruitment process. However, elimination on the ground of weight will be done at the time of medical examination only.

Pregnancy at the time of PET will be considered as disqualification and such females will be rejected. No PET test will be held for the Ex-Servicemen. Original documents will be checked by the board of officers and only eligible candidates will go to the next stage.

BSF Tradesman Recruitment 2024 Trade Test

The candidates who qualify in the PST, PET, and Documentation of BSF Tradesman Recruitment 2024 will be put through the respective Trade Test. Each candidate will be allowed to appear for one trade test only. The Trade Test will be qualifying in nature and it will not carry any marks.

• Cobbler: Polishing of shoes, handling tools, cutting of leather, repair & stitching of shoes.
• Tailor: Taking measurement of persons, cutting of cloth and stitching of uniform.
• Carpenter: Handling tools, cutting of wood, fitting, polishing and finishing of materials
• Cook: Cooking of Chappatti & Rice, Cooking Vegetables/ Dal/ Sambhar/ Idli, etc. for 100 men, cooking of meat/ fish/ egg/ kheer.
• Water Carrier: Washing of utensils, kneading of Atta for making chappattis for about 100 men and cutting of vegetables etc.
• Washerman: Washing of clothes, ironing of Khaki, cotton uniform, woolen and TC uniform.
• Barber: Handlling of tools, haricutting and shaving.
• Sweeper: Sweeping, cleaning of toilets and bathroom etc.
• Waiter: Hygiene/ sanitation, servicing of foods and allied matters.

BSF Tradesman Exam Pattern 2024

The written test for the BSF Tradesman Bharti 2024 will be conducted in Pen and Paper mode in Offline OMR Based. The qualifying marks will be 35% for Gen and Ex-Servicemen while 33% for SC/ ST/ OBC candidates.

BSF Tradesman Syllabus 2024

General Awareness/General Knowledge : History, Geography and Socio Economic development, Knowledge of current events of National and International importance and such matters of every day observation and experience in their scientific aspects as may be expected of an educated person who has not made a special study of any scientific subject. Paper will also include questions on Modern History (From 1857 onwards) of India, Indian culture, Indian Polity, Indian Economy, Geography of India.

Knowledge of elementary Mathematics : The test of Arithmetical and Numerical abilities will cover Number Systems including questions on Simplification, Decimals, Fractions, L.C.M., H.C.F., Ratio & Proportion, Percentage, Average, Profit & Loss, Discount, Simple & Compound Interest, Mensuration, Time & Work, Time & Distance, Tables & Graphs, etc.

Analytical Aptitude and ability to Observe the Distinguish Pattern : It will include the question of both verbal and non-verbal type. Question will be asked from analogies, similarities and and differences, problem solving, relationship, arithmetical computation and other analytical functions, Venn diagrams, relationship concepts and Ability to observe and distinguish patterns etc.

General Hindi/English : Candidates’ ability to understand correct English, his basic comprehension and writing ability, etc. would be tested. Questions will be asked from error recognition, fill in the blanks (using verbs, preposition, articles etc), Vocabulary, Spellings, Grammar, Sentence Structure, Synonyms, Antonyms, Sentence Completion, Phrases and Idiomatic use of Words, etc.
