10+2 examination from a recognized Board or University.

Candidates will have to qualify shorthand/typing speed test at the prescribed speed.

ASI (Stenographer) :

10+2 examination from a recognized Board or University.

Candidates will have to qualify shorthand/typing speed test at the prescribed speed

BSF HC Ministerial & ASI Exam Pattern 2024

1. The exam will be conducted on the OMR sheet.
2. Every candidate will be given 100 minutes (1:40 hours) to perform.
3. Written exam will be of 100 marks in total.
4. Cut off marks will be 35% for General and 33% for SC/ST candidate.
5. The question paper will be bilingual (Hindi & English) and every candidate will be given option to perform their examination test either in Hindi or English.

BSF ASI Steno & HC (Ministerial) Syllabus 2024

Hindi/English language: This section is to test the ability of the candidate to understand English, comprehension and writing ability. Questions will be on Sentence Completion, error recognition, Vocabulary, Spelling, filling in the blanks (using verbs, preposition, articles), Grammar, Synonyms, Antonyms, Phrases and Idiomatic use of Words and Sentence Structure.

General Intelligence: This section will have both verbal and non-verbal question type and will be asked from analogies, similarities and differences, problem solving, arithmetical computation, relationship, analytical functions, Venn diagrams, relationship concepts. Few questions will be asked from Ability to observe and distinguish patterns.

Numerical Aptitude: Candidate have to study following sections L.C.M., H.C.F., Simplification, Percentage, Average, Decimals, Discount, Fractions, Simple & Compound Interest, Time & Work, Time & Distance, Ratio & Proportion, Profit & Loss, Mensuration, Tables & Graphs.

Clerical Aptitude: Question will be based on perceptual accuracy and aptitude in which basically candidates ability to notice similarities and difference between the pairs of names and numbers, ability to handle office routine abbreviating, work like filing, indexing.

Computer Knowledge: Fundamentals, MS-Office : Word Processing (MS-Word), Presentation Knowledge (MS-Power Point), Spread Sheet (MS-Excel), MS Access and Usage of Internet Services available on Internet, Basic Networking Concepts, Communication Technology.
